Public Inquiry Opening Tuesday, DD MM YY

Transport And Works Act 1992
Transport And Works (Applications And Objections Procedure) (England And Wales) Rules 2006

The Cambridge South East Transport scheme has been developed by the Greater Cambridge Partnership on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council who are the legal applicant.

The scheme would comprise the following:

  • a two-way guided busway 8.5 kilometres in length starting at Francis Crick Avenue, the northern end of the Proposed Development where buses will run on the existing highway. The offline busway commences at the southern end of Francis Crick Avenue, where the route crosses through the centre of the roundabout;
  • the route then travels through multiple agricultural fields, crossing Granham’s Road, Hinton Way, Haverhill Road, Sawston Road and High Street before finishing at the proposed new Travel Hub. The busway passes north east of three villages, Great Shelford, Stapleford, and Sawston;
  • intermediate bus stops along the route and an emergency and maintenance access track running alongside the two-way guided busway for most of the length of the guided busway which would be accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. Most of the length of the track will also function as a bridleway or permissive bridleway;
  • the A11 Travel Hub comprises the southern-most extent of the physical infrastructure of the CSET2 Scheme and is located on land adjacent to the A11 and A1307, at the Fourwentways junction and covers an area approximately 20 hectares.
